|
As an owner and a part-time operator of my Nexpress, I always look for better ways of using this great press to make my customers happy and make some money for living So I'm curious what type of work other people do on Nexpresses, and what's even more important, what the press is best in doing.
Do you run lots of variable data jobs for direct mail? Maybe you succeeded in printing magazines and newspapers? Tons of flyers and business cards?
Maybe you specialize in printing exclusive photobooks or magnets?
Since we're all from different places, I don't think there is any commercial risk in sharing these ideas. Yet such sharing can help us to get more successful in what we do.
I print color book covers for b/w books, business cards, flyers, some exclusive full color books on specialty papers. We do some works on adhesives, and sometimes I print b/w books on coated paper (put very old ORCs ).
I prefer not to take nice full size flat fields, haven't tried plastics yet. Since an impression on the Nexpress is not cheap in my area, it's kind of hard to compete with Indigo and Xerox (not Igen - 7K and 8K models) and Konica just in price, and my press is underloaded right now. |

Hello all, don't get around the nexpress interwebz much anymore. Business has been weird.
I do close to 99% variable data. Small run cards, labels and photobooks. The photobook area has nearly died. Too much competetion with the same product.
The big thing lately is to run B&W jobs that run short of paper on the digimasters, and there is no time to go to press and re-laser.
And, once weekly, I run vinyl signage for a local plastic molding company here. The paper is a phony teslin, and is nowhere close to being qualified. Occasionally, they even do a vinyl label. The stock smells like a pool floatie, and the charge from printing does not dissapate. you can't touch it without rubber coated gloves.
nexy still has problems.... it eats webs and IC's now for lunch.

"BOOT THE PRESS"
"BUY MORE ORC'S"
"THEN...BUY SOME MORE ORC'S"
"USE CALL ESCALATION"
then FE comes in and says:"BUY MORE ORC'S" |
