All Nexpress Users and Owners,
The 2009 Graphics Users Association (GUA) Conference will be held in Orlando Florida on May 17th - 20th.
I'd like to personally invite any nexpressforums.com member to this years conference and make sure we have a large group of Nexpress users and owners at this years conference.
Please go to www.gua2009.com for more conference information.
If you sign up before March 16th, you can lock in last years pricing, otherwise before April 16th you can still save $100.
The conference gives each Kodak customer (max of 3) a credit for $3000 towards specific products (more details at mygua.org) so basically the conference pays for itself.
If you haven't been to a GUA conference before, or aren't a GUA member, not is a great time to join (joining GUA is free as long as you own a Kodak product)
GUA Conferences features many different sessions, covering all elements of print, from web to print, VDP, print technnologies, Adobe and Apple are typically there as well. Plus, this is the only time you will get direct access to almost all of the developers and product managers all in one place, not to mention senior executives from Kodak.
If you have any questions or concerns about GUA or the Conference, please let me know. _________________ Patrick Stuart | Today in Print Podcast |

Just a reminder, Sunday March 15th is the deadline for last years pricing. Sign up before then to save $200 off the conference price.
I really want to see a lot of Nexpress Owners and Operators at this years conference. It is a great opportunity to talk directly with Kodak developers and engineers along with senior management about what you need and want in Kodak products.
You can also find out about future products and get hands on almost all kodak products in the lab.
So let me know if you or anyone from your company is planning on going, maybe we can do a Nexpress user's unofficial meetup at the conference. _________________ Patrick Stuart | Today in Print Podcast |

| Correct me if I am wrong, The $12,000 credit for three people can only be used for "New" Kodak product, not ORC's or dry ink?? |

Correct, but it can be used to purchase upgrades to the Nexpress.
http://gua2009.com/CreditInfo.aspx
The new dimensional clear toner upgrades are included as well as Smartboard, iVDP, Prinergy Digital, Digital Press Management (for Prinergy 5) as well as Darwin, InSite, ColorFlow and much more. _________________ Patrick Stuart | Today in Print Podcast |

Last chance, only 2 weeks away from the conference.
If you haven't been, go.
GUA is the best place to find out the latest and greatest news about products and software from Kodak.
Plus, its not a sales meeting, developers, product managers and technical staff are on hand to show you their software and hardware, answer any questions you have and actually get to use the stuff in the lab.
If you are going, please let me know. Maybe we can have a mini Nexpress Users Group meeting at GUA _________________ Patrick Stuart | Today in Print Podcast |

NexPress 2500 Operator here, I'll be attending the GUA conference. We have had the press for less than a year, so this will be my first time at the conference.
I'm not sure what to expect, some of the descriptions on the GUA website for the sessions are, well..., non descriptive.
Is there any advice you can give for the first timer?
Thanks! _________________ Jeff Solsburg

Glad to hear we have some new folks attending this year.
You will not be alone in being a first timer. So if you are in on Sunday night, make sure to attend the new delegate function Sunday night. Meet key Kodak people and your GUA board members as well as fellow new delegates.
Lots to learn and cover, but the great thing I always get from the conference is talking to other Kodak users and hearing their take on things.
The general sessions are usually very good, the break out sessions are up to you to choose which ones you want to attend. Lots of different topics, well beyond Nexpress to sit in on.
My personal preferences are to try to sit in on the digital print stuff, specifically the Prinergy Digital, JDF, ColorFlow, Darwin 3 for Prepress (I am presenting that session so a bit of a requirement for me) and the InSite Storefront and Insite Campaign Manager sessions should be really good and probably really relavant to a new Nexpress owner or operator.
Also, try to spend some time in the lab, where you can chat with the developers and product managers and see all the software in one place without the sales pitch
Lastly, its all about the members, so strike up conversations with others, ask questions, don't be shy.
Oh and don't forget the executive bullpen, probably the funnest part of the conference. Watching Kodak executives field questions from its users, its a great time. Might even want to ask a question or two yourself.
Hope that helps, and I'll see you in Orlando! _________________ Patrick Stuart | Today in Print Podcast |

Sorry to inform you of the bad news. But the GUA conference WAS in Orlando last May. As in last may 2009.
This year it is in Vancouver and is going on right now. So you missed it his year also.
The only good news is they normally alternate coasts. So it should be in the east next year. They have not decided on a place yet I don't think.[/b] |
